The standard plus rooms are closer to a three star New Forest hotel standard room. They are of a reasonable size but, being a New Forest Cottage there simply isn't the space to make the rooms huge. St Nicholas is a 1,000 year old Saxon Church just a 15 min walk from Cottage Lodge bed and breakfast in the New Forest village of Brockenhurst |

Just a few minutes walk from the Cottage Lodge Bed and Breakfast Brockenhurst New Forest is the Watersplash. A local feature where the stream goes across the road at the bottom of the highstreet. |

It is very common to see ponies, cattle and donkeys in the middle of the high street in the village of Brockenhurst. |

This is the beautiful church of St Saviours just across the road from the Watersplash. It was built just over 100 years ago by the Walker Munroe family as a gift to the village. There are four busy churches in Brockenhurst including a 1,000 year old Saxon Church St Nicholas |

Your New Forest should definately include a trip to Bolderwood to see the Deer being fed. You can often see Deer as you walk through the forest but at Bolderwood the herd are regularly fed by the rangers and so they are used to people and you get a good view. Bolderwood is a good cycle or a pleasant drive from the Cottage Lodge B&B in Brockenhurst |

There are many places in the forest that have such level off road walks that they are suitable for wheelchair users. |

When you get out into the forest you are on wonderful, level, maintained logging trails. If you want the facts 192 km of flat off road cycling. And, because the New Forest was once under the sea (a very long time ago) the landscape is gently sloping and mostly flat. |

Cycling is one of the most rewarding ways to spend your New Forest Holiday. Cycle hire is open all year round. Within a few minutes cycle of Cottage Lodge B&B in Brockenhurst village you can by cycling on open heathland. Within fifteen minutes you can be in the heart of the forest. You can also find a couple of good pubs en-route. What more could you ask of your New Forest Holiday? |

In the railway station (five minute walk from Cottage Lodge B&B) you will find bike hire. Here you can take a full or half day hire and explore the forest on 192 KM of off road tracks. |

At the other end of the rail carriage is the cycle hire centre. The Rough Guide said that one of the top ten things you should do before you die is cycle in the New Forest. Frankly I agree. The other nine should also include the New Forest: walk, drink, eat..... all in the New Forest on holiday |
